This Dining Hall Building was planned to be located at the grounds of the Military Headquarters in Stockholm. The project was aborted very late in the process.
The surrounding area is densely built, though heterogeneous. The closest buildings include the military’s very large brick building complex, a "Falun red paint" riding school, narrow apartment buildings and the Olaus Petri church. The dining hall is placed between the military headquarters’ buildings and is formed as a relatively low freestanding pavilion in light coloured plaster. The dining room on the upper floor, which is accessed by a grand stair hall, serves the headquarters’ personnel. At ground level is the dining hall for military conscripts, with a special entrance towards the riding school to the northeast. The folded glass facade with frames in oiled oak faces the headquarters’ main entrance on Lidingövägen. The facade’s contour enriches and provides scope for views in the narrow space between the new building and the headquarters.
