Our proposal in the competition for a Visitors center for the Lund Cathedral can be described shortly as a compact structure in brick and glass. It´s placed to be easily reached from “Kyrkogatan” and the western portal, its placement also helps defining this space close to the cathedral. The building is a freestanding pavilion. The internal spaces have been designed to create a visual contact with the cathedral. The large roof terrace is also facing the cathedral. Under the terrace the lobby is placed, through which you can reach all the main functions. On the opposing side a café opens up to the busy town street “Kungsgatan”.
