Extensive alterations to a villa from 1975 located in the residential area Djursholm outside Stockholm, for Nobel laureate professor Bengt Samuelsson and his wife. The commission was primarily about changing the villa’s exterior. The house was given a new roof that created new orientations in relation to the site and the landscape. A small family room with a fantastic view across the water was also added in the process. Outdoor terraces on the ground and a large deck on pillars were reworked. Dark wood finishes were painted white or replaced with stainless steel. Other added materials include zinc, red oak and roughened limestone.
