In his plan study for Fittja we were commissioned by Botkyrka kommun to present strategies and ideas for how the suburb could develop in the 30 years to come. Our proposal has aimed to show how the existing buildings and functions can be enriched by new buildings and a strengthened infrastructure. We have suggested different types of housing and recommend architectural variation. How these new buildings are placed can in certain areas have a substantial effect on existing functions; for example the suggested building behind “Centrum” that transforms this backside to a vital street or the rugged pathway close to the “Centrum” that could become a new commercial pedestrian street. The green areas/surrounding nature and the proximity to lake “Albysjön” is a large asset to the inhabitants. Some of these areas needs to be taken care of to reach their full potential
