Proposal for a limited competition -Library and Cultural- /Community centre for Vallentuna kommun.
A robust and homely building that with its distinct volume and placing on the site helps defining the city structure of this central part of Vallentuna. A new park-square in front of it, facing south, will serve as a vital meeting-point for children and adults in the community.
The different functions of the building are closely connected in a three-storey building where the foyer and spacious staircase is central. The entrance- and 1:st floor consists of public spaces like the library, auditorium and other community services. The 2:nd floor is mainly offices for the municipal administration, that surrounds a large elevated courtyard in the middle.
