Proposal for addition for the District Court at the Stockholm Town Hall
In this invited competition our main starting point was to make an independent choice of placing for the addition. After analyzing the main options we came to the conclusion that an addition within the building at the courts would be the best solution. A generous main hall with easy access to all connecting functions is a very effective solution that saves the ground outside the building and doesn´t compromise the Town Halls strong character of free standing building. Very few alterations will be needed in the existing structure. The façade of the new addition would be made of glass and give interesting reflections of the surrounding characteristic facades.
